Origin
I am an aspiring First Nations artist, graphic artist and graphic designer from Hazelton, BC. I was born and raised in the community of Gitanmaax in the Gitxsan culture. I am from the Gisgaast (Fireweed) clan, in the Wilp (House) of Gutgwinuuxws (Snowy Owl). I currently reside on the Kitsumkalum reserve in Terrace, BC with my husband.
Inspiration
The creative energy I thrive on is fueled by art, crafting, beading, nature and culture. A passion for art began as a young girl amazed with First Nations art and regalia. I started out watching my dad carve and paint and was inspired to take pencil to paper. I later attended the College of New Caledonia, completing a diploma in the Writing and New Media Design program, where I explored the art of graphic design - this is where I found a new love in vector art. From there I’ve embraced and committed to a life-long journey of learning and honing the skills of my craft.
Experience
I have over ten years of experience developing and designing print projects for non-profit organizations, small businesses, events and artists.
